Wonder Kids Blog

Wayne Wonder Based in Gloucestershire in the U.K is one of the country's leading children's entertainers and winner of multiple awards across his field.

As a magician and children's entertainer I am constantly on the look out for new ideas, different takes on old ideas and practically anything I can add into my repertoire.  As a by product of this I come across or invent lots of ideas that for one reason or another I can't fit into my shows.  That doesn't mean that they are no good in fact many of them work great for ideas to try at home.  I only realised this after having my daughter and seeing how much she enjoyed them.  That's why I have created this resource, for families to visit take away what they want and try these things at home.  You have everything at your fingertips for great, easy and inexpensive ideas for your little ones at home.  Going out to new experiences and spending time together as a family is important if not crucial to a child's development but that doesn't mean you have to go out and spend lots of money every time, you can create amazing memories just by investing a little bit of time at home with these great ideas.

Captain America Civil War - Avengers Mason jars

Support the Kids Club

It's Tuesday lunchtime and it's time for a brand new idea for my Kids Club.  I love adding loads of variety in the club, with food, games, crafts and even puzzles. There is so much on here now, please take advantage of it by using the search bar to search your favourite films or characters or you can scroll down to see some of my older posts too.  Although as I write this the weather is getting better everyday and you can tell that summer is on the way, I just loved this idea so much that I had to include it.

Before we crack on this week, you may remember a couple of weeks back that I mentioned I had been filming at a green screen studio? Well now you can find the first of many new youtube video's.  This is a great channel for kids featuring the UK's best family entertainers, you have got to try it and hit that subscribe button.  It doesn't cost a penny! Avengers Mason Jars

It may look like it's going to take ages to make these but I promise you it's really easy and I think children from 7yrs upwards could do most of this themselves.  These will make brilliant halloween deco, maybe going up steps to your house or in your back garden.  I like the idea of just using them as a cool night light in the kids rooms.

You will need to make a trip to your local craft shop, I'm a huge fan of Hobbbycraft and I'm sure they would have everything you need for this. Here is the equipment list:

  • Mason Jars (five if you want to make all of them)
  • Paint (we used poster paint but acrylic should work fine as well- you’ll need green, yellow or orange, blue, and red.)
  • Brushes (I started with a sponge brush)
  • Glue (I used a hot glue gun but school glue will work as well)
  • Card stock (to print the Avengers)
  • Avengers Printable (just click on the image above for the FREE download)
  • Scissors
  • Battery tea lights, you should find these at most pound shops.  They look like tea lights but are battery powered as opposed to having a naked flame.  Just to be on the safe side, I don't like using naked flames with something that kids will want to touch.
