Wonder Kids

Wayne Wonder Based in Buckinghamshire in the U.K is one of the country's leading children's entertainers and winner of multiple awards across his field.

As a magician and children's entertainer I am constantly on the look out for new ideas, different takes on old ideas and practically anything I can add into my repertoire.  As a by product of this I come across or invent lots of ideas that for one reason or another I can't fit into my shows.  That doesn't mean that they are no good in fact many of them work great for ideas to try at home.  I only realised this after having my daughter and seeing how much she enjoyed them.  That's why I have created this resource, for families to visit take away what they want and try these things at home.  You have everything at your fingertips for great, easy and inexpensive ideas for your little ones at home.  Going out to new experiences and spending time together as a family is important if not crucial to a child's development but that doesn't mean you have to go out and spend lots of money every time, you can create amazing memories just by investing a little bit of time at home with these great ideas.

I would love to know what you think about Wonder Kids blog and how you get on with any of the ideas in fact if you post a picture of your family trying one of the activities from this blog o my Facebook Page I will send you a goodie bag filled with loads of great Wayne Wonder Prizes for FREE!

Alice in Wonderland - Glowtini

Alice in Wonderland ideas from Wonder Kids

Welcome to the second week of our Alice in Wonderland fun.  If you're a regular reader (thanks for coming back) you will know about all of the improvements I have been adding to Wonder Kids over the past few weeks.  Well this week is no different, I have added two brand new sections.

The New Video's section is the new home for all of our video's that we have been making for two years now.  Not only is it for our videos but there are also other Youtube Channels there too that feature Wonder Kids and some videos just from our friends that we think you will like too. We have already uploaded our first video of 2017 which is a review of the new Furby Connect, check it out below.

The second new section is Kids Kitchen, over the years I have shown some great simple ideas that are a great way to introduce kids into the kitchen and to get them trying some more adventurous food too. I have highlighted some of my favourite ideas but if you scroll down the page you will find even more ideas and I will be updating this section regularly with brand new videos from the Wonder Kids You Tube Channel.

Now we are done with the biggest intro I have ever included on a blog post, it's time to get down to business.  This week I have another great way to get the kids into the kitchen and get some extra fruit into them by making it fun.  I have included three "Glowtini" recipes.  Whats a Glowtini? its a child friendly mocktail that glows in the dark and it's completely safe to drink! Read on to find out more.

Cherry Mint Glowtini from Wonder Kids

Cherry Mint Glowtini

  • 1 cup fresh cherries, stemmed and pitted
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint
  • 1/2 tbsp Sugar
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 3 cups club soda
  • ice

In a large bowl, combine cherries, mint, and sugar. Using a potato masher or pastry blender, muddle ingredients together until cherries burst and mint has released it's flavor. Add to a large glass pitcher and add lime juice, club soda, and ice. Mix gently to combine.

Serve over additional crushed ice. Now for the cool part, turn it into a Glowtini by adding one of these super cool glowing ice cubes. Serve it in a darkened room and you'll hear the gasps and how cool it looks, it tastes great too.

Raspberry Lemonade Fizz Glowtini by Wonder Kids

Raspberry Lemonade Fizz Glowtini

This recipe is the most time coming but it tastes great and it has real fruit in it.  Here's what you'll need

1 pk frozen Raspberries

Lemonade to taste

Ginger ale

First, cook down frozen raspberries into a thick, syrupy juice. Time: 10-15 minutes.

Second, press syrup through a fine-mesh sieve to remove seeds.

Third, chill the raspberry syrup for at least 2 hours.

Finally, combine raspberry juice with lemonade in a large pitcher and top with ginger ale.

Pour over ice and serve! Add one of the glowing ice cubes for the wow factor.

That's it for this week but come back next week for more great Alice in Wonderland ideas.  You can also try some of our previous posts below and don't forget to let us know which Glowtini is your favourite in the comments below.
