Wonder Kids Blog

Wayne Wonder Based in Gloucestershire in the U.K is one of the country's leading children's entertainers and winner of multiple awards across his field.

As a magician and children's entertainer I am constantly on the look out for new ideas, different takes on old ideas and practically anything I can add into my repertoire.  As a by product of this I come across or invent lots of ideas that for one reason or another I can't fit into my shows.  That doesn't mean that they are no good in fact many of them work great for ideas to try at home.  I only realised this after having my daughter and seeing how much she enjoyed them.  That's why I have created this resource, for families to visit take away what they want and try these things at home.  You have everything at your fingertips for great, easy and inexpensive ideas for your little ones at home.  Going out to new experiences and spending time together as a family is important if not crucial to a child's development but that doesn't mean you have to go out and spend lots of money every time, you can create amazing memories just by investing a little bit of time at home with these great ideas.

Top Secret Spies - Induction

Wonder Kids Spy Fun

Welcome to November here at Wonder Kids.  This is something I have wanted to explore for a while now. All month we are going to find some really fun things you can use for any budding secret agents out there. Lets start with the induction of our spies to be.  Take their fingerprints first and show them the little grooves and indentations.  Explain that these are pretty much unique to each individual. To do this you'll need the free print out I have created below and I have found it best to use an ink pad, make sure you have a wet cloth to wipe the kids fingers straight away so that it doesn't stain.  You can also get a fingerprint with a normal pencil.  To do this rub a very dark patch of pencil on a sheet of paper and have the kids press each finger onto that dark patch as you would the ink pad.  This does give fingerprints but not nearly as good as the ink pad.

Next as part of the Induction the kids need to figure out this puzzle, It's a word search that I created with all spy related words.  Again this is a free printable.

Lets finish this week off with a super simple craft, but don't worry we will back every week this month with more great Spy Fun.

Wonder kids Walkie Talkie

Juice Carton

Walkie Talkie

Finish with your juice drinks, Cover them in black Fablon. Use Aluminium Foil for the speaker and mic parts, just use PVA glue to attach them.  Using a black sharpie add the dots to the foil.  A nice finishing touch is a piece of either red felt or red Fablon on the side as a button.
