Wonder Kids Blog

Wayne Wonder Based in Gloucestershire in the U.K is one of the country's leading children's entertainers and winner of multiple awards across his field.

As a magician and children's entertainer I am constantly on the look out for new ideas, different takes on old ideas and practically anything I can add into my repertoire.  As a by product of this I come across or invent lots of ideas that for one reason or another I can't fit into my shows.  That doesn't mean that they are no good in fact many of them work great for ideas to try at home.  I only realised this after having my daughter and seeing how much she enjoyed them.  That's why I have created this resource, for families to visit take away what they want and try these things at home.  You have everything at your fingertips for great, easy and inexpensive ideas for your little ones at home.  Going out to new experiences and spending time together as a family is important if not crucial to a child's development but that doesn't mean you have to go out and spend lots of money every time, you can create amazing memories just by investing a little bit of time at home with these great ideas.

Captain America Civil War - Super Games

Support The Kids Club

I've had a very busy and productive week, spending time in a sound studio with a professional voice over artist for my up coming theatre show, you can find out more about this show here.  Im currently writing this from a secret location somewhere in Shropshire where I'm spending time with all the top family entertainers in the UK. Sharing ideas and being very creative, hopefully to bring back a bunch of fresh ideas for my shows.  This week in the kids club I have some awesome Superhero games that your kids will love.  These games are super simple and designed to be super fun on a summer day out in the garden or even for a birthday party.

This is a super simple game and you can use this simple Thor's Hammer you can make from home too.  You can play this two different ways, either use a circle of masking tape on the floor, making sure it's big enough to fit the hammer inside the circle.  Then you'll need more than one hammer, maybe three or four which is why my super simple home made hammers are ideal.  The winner is whoever gets their hammer closest to the centre of the circle.  The version above is a more like ten pin bowling, stack polystyrene or paper cups up in a pyramid.  Plastic cups are too light so don't use them. Now stand back and throw the hammers, one hammer per pyramid, the winner is the person who knocks over the most cups.

This game just looks like so much fun, I really want to try it.  Make sure you have a sturdy table for this one or use a bench or even the floor.  You'll need the Hulk fists (mask optional) shown in the picture above.  And you need some mini ice cream cones, mini ones tend to stand up better.  Tell the kids they only have a few seconds to smash as many cones as they can.  Use the timer on your phone to time them.  You will need loads of ice cream cones, I mean LOADS.  only give the kids 10 or 15 seconds but they could always have more then one go each. The winner is the child who destroys the most cones in the time.

Thats it for this week but make sure you take a look at my older posts (below) for loads of great things you can do at home with the kids.  I would love to see some of you at my theatre show thats coming up in High Wycombe on Saturday 3rd September, tickets are selling fast now and it's only a small theatre.  Come back next Tuesday lunchtime for more great things to do with kids that are super easy and won't break the bank.
